Week 48

This week was good. Let me start with what happened:
  • MONDAY-the usual. We also had a sweet family night at the house of one of the best youth I have seen in my mission (her name is Stephany).

  • TUESDAY-I got transferred. I am now in JundiaÍ Campo Limpo Paulista. It took two buses and one train to get here. And just to give you an idea as to where I am, if I go two more train stops, I am in the SΓ£o Paulo South Mission, right on the edge. My new companion is Elder Dalsin (who was with me if you remember in Jardin de Lago when I first got there). So far, so good.

  • REST OF THE WEEK-same old work.
I am loving my new area. There is a lot of nature and today we hope to do a hike to a mini Cristo Redentor that we have in our area. But other than that, not much is happening.

It is good to see how all of you are doing. Have a great birthday, Hayden πŸ˜€πŸ˜‹. Everyone, have a great week and keep me informed as to how things are going.

Love you all.

Sincerely,
Elder Jardine

Elder Jardine and his companion (the other white guy) looking serious with the YSA and other companionship.
Week 47

This week was better. We decided to focus on talking with everyone, which is something I kind of struggle with, but I had a goal to close my contacts (150) and I was able to surpass that. This week, I was able to give 200 people the opportunity to receive the gospel message. Other than that, not much happened.

We had a sweet activity on Thursday with magic and popcorn, so that was fun. Transfers are tomorrow and I think I will be leaving so we will have to see where I go next. I am kind of sad to leave. This area and my companion are the best I have had in my mission, but where the Lord wants me, that's where I'll go.

Keep having awesome weeks and enjoy the pictures.

With much love,
Elder Jardine

Week 46

This week was something. Okay... I have to be kind of honest here; it kind of sucked. We had already cut Emerson due to the fact that we could never meet with him. We were able to talk to Robson and he said that he didn't what anymore involvement with the church due to the fact that he needs to find work. πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ We didn't destroy him like we could have so we could at least leave  one door open for him.

So, as of now, we have no one in our teaching pool. After that, we kind of got depressed and it was difficult to find a reason to work. Then on Friday, we finally decided it was enough. We went and sat down at a table in the park in our complex and analyzed our problems-what we were doing wrong, what we were going to do better, and how we could solve our problems. Now, we are all good and hoping that this week will be better.

Good news of this week was that we had a bunch on less active members come to church, so that was good to see. So now, just pray that we will find some new people this week to teach.

It is good to hear how your weeks are going. Keep me informed on the house and things like that.

Have a good week!

Love you all soooooo much.

Sincerely,
Elder Jardine

Week 45
This week was good; just a few things have been happening:
  • I had interviews with President Hill which was fun.
  • We marked a date for Robson (that is actually how you spell his name) for the 17th, but after that day, we haven't been able to get in contact with him. So that is weird; just remember him in your prayers.
Other than that, my week was pretty normal. Just the usual things-work, teaching, and stuff. It has been getting cold down here so I am starting to use my sweater more.

It is always great to hear how things are going at home. Keep me informed and send me pictures of Tucker and stuff.

Love you all soooooo much!!!!!

Sincerely,
Elder Jardine

Week 44

This week was great. We did pretty much the same old thing-going around, trying to get people to let us in to say a prayer. We had divisions with the zone leaders in their area. I was great, especially since we had a stroganoff pizza at night πŸ˜‹

We are also working on having a house and district shirt made, both of which I did the drawings for (the pictures are down below). Robson is doing great. He doesn't have any problems with the commandments. He gives us a ride even though he is unemployed and his gas is about empty. And he was at church before we were this Sunday. We got there at 8:35 πŸ˜Ά. He just needs to associate the feelings he feels with the Spirit and an answer. Unfortunately, we weren't able to teach Emerson this week and he wasn't at church, but we will pass by there on Tuesday. We also had another surprise. This Sunday, one of our other investigators, Mateus, came to church so we will also be teaching him this week.

As for the daily life of a missionary, we wake up at 6:30 am, eat, exercise, and get ready for the day. We do personal gospel study from 8:30 to 9:30 am.  Then, we leave the house to go talk to everyone and clap on doors to see if people are interested in a prayer or a message. We usually eat lunch with a member and if we have appointments to teach other people, we go. During the day, we choose a time to do companionship study and language study. We generally have a 30 minute break at 5:30 to eat and rest and we work until we have to be home, which is 9:30 pm. So that is pretty much my average day.

It is good to hear how you guys are doing. As for Audrey's call, I am stoked!!!! Brazil is awesome!!!!!! (A friend Nathan went to school with in Eugene, Oregon whose family also moved to Utah was called to the Brazil Porto Alegre mission.)

Well, you guys have a great week and I will write you next week.
I love you all soooooo much.

Sincerely,
Elder Jardine
