Week 29

This week was good. We did a lot of talking, but unfortunately, not a whole lot of teaching. But we will kill it this week, I promise.
We had a few interesting things happen this week. First of all, this past Saturday, we went and talked English with some kids at a local language school which was originally made by a member. (I am actually siting in one in Campinas emailing for free because I am a missionary. Missionary work has its perks aside from two pizzas for around three dollars.)
We (Elder Fischer and I) just talked about what we do a lot in our country and with our lives. They asked us some questions and one of the kids at the end of the session asked if he could give me a hug. So that pretty much made his day. It was awesome. Life here is going well and just to answer some of your questions:

No, I will not stay in this area one more transfer or I will go crazy.
I am darn near fluent in Portuguese; so is Elder Fischer.
We didn't find anyone new to teach this week, but we will keep working.
Elder A Santos is a great guy who likes to talk about DragonBall Z, Naruto and other stuff I like which is fun, but all around he is a hard worker and a good friend.

Sorry. Due to how this desktop is designed, I can't email photos, but I will next week.
Keep having great weeks and I will continue to pray for you all.

Sincerely,
Elder Jardine

Week 28

This week was good for us. We taught a lot of people and now have 8 new people to teach. One of our most promising is Iracinea. She is great. She really wants to know what church to follow and when we talked about a living prophet, her mind was blown. It was great to see her desire along with her daughter who lives in France. So, that is crazy and we are stoked about it.
The new schedule is working out great for us and we are getting a lot of work done. The weather here is starting to get colder and rainier and I am counting down the days until Daylight Savings time starts so I can get one more hour of sleep😴. But ya, all is great here.

It is always good to hear how your weeks are going and keep enjoying your weeks.

Love you all and I pray for you continually.

Sincerely
Elder Jardine

Week 27

This week was pretty normal. We walked a LOT and talked to a lot of people, but unfortunately, almost all of our commitments fell, so that was a bummer. But ,we will continue on and pray for the Spirit.

As far as Danilo goes, we have stopped visiting him. He lives far away and every time without fail we try to pass there, they are not there, so that is a bummer. But Erica is good. She explained that she has a small problem with her throat so that explains why she wasn't coming to church, but it's all good now.

I love Elder A Santos! He is a hard worker and we get along great. We have cut Rodrigo and Fabriela because they didn't come to church and they have stopped answering the phone and door. So, I get the message. But, all good!

It is great to see how your weeks are going and how the Lord is blessing you guys. Keep enjoying the snow and have fantastic weeks.

Love you all and I pray for you continually.

Sincerely,
Elder Jardine

Week 26

So, this week was interesting. We had transfers and my new companion is Elder A Santos and he is great. A few things I have learned about him: he is from Sedip, Brazil, he has 9 months in the mission, this is his third area and he is optimistic. He has the same Goku shirt as me which is awesome and somehow he knows more about Dragon BallZ than me ðŸ˜µ. He is amazing and hard working.

We are working hard here and are teaching a few people that have promise. Rodrigo and Fabriela are great people who are very welcoming. Fabriela is pregnant, so our focus is the family and first thing we are going to focus on is having them get married. But, they really are great people, although, their little 6 week old puppy has very sharp teeth and loves us. So, we are working and we are starting to get somewhere.

A few people to remember in your prayers. First, is Danilo. Pray that he will stop drinking and smoking and have a desire to return to the church. Also pray for Erica that she will also return and have courage to tell people to stop telling her all of the gossip in the ward and Irmão Luis that he will regain his testimony and tell us the real reason he has stopped coming to church.

It is good to see that everything is going well for you guys and I hope that you all have a great week.

Love and pray for you!

Sincerely,
Elder Jardine

Elder Jardine with his companion, Elder Almeida, overlooking Itapira
Elder Jardine with Elder Sosa
Working hard in the heat!
Elder Jardine finally found the recipe (on the back of the pumpkin can...)
to make his favorite dessert! He said it was delish!

Week 25

So, my week was interesting. We didn't really work much due to the fact that I had something to do almost every morning. Terça ferra (Tuesday) was District meeting; on Wednesday, I was in Campinas to make a copy of a federal document; on Thursday, we worked; on Friday, I was in Itapira for divisions with the zone leaders and Saturday we were returning to our area. So, things were crazy.

We don't have any new investigators, but we have a big teaching pool with lots of families with promise. I will visit them this week with my new companion who I will tell you about when I know who it is.

But, this week was pretty normal. I finally made the pumpkin pie, which we quickly ate😀. It was delicious and I loved it. I will attach some pictures of this week. The views are of Itapira where I found Lombard Street!!!!!! It was like Itapira was the San Francisco of Brazil. I loved it.

Well, that's all for now. The work is continuing to progress and it is becoming increasingly more difficult to write in English, so that is a good sign for my Portuguese, which people say I am fluent in. I have my doubts.

I love you all so much. Keep having great lives and enjoy the cold. It is blazing hot here; I would kill for snow, so ENJOY IT.

Love you guys and have a great week.

Sinceramente
Elder Jardine

Week 24

So, it has been a long time since I have emailed you guys and a lot has happened.

First off, Happy New Year!!!!!! It was great! We had a small barbecue. After that, we went to a member's house for a bit and then we were in house at 8, having a massive Nerf fight. I went to bed at about ten and was awakened by the fireworks at one am. We didn't really run into any drunk people the next day because it was Sunday, so that was good.

My weeks have been good. We have found some people to teach, but only time will tell if they are ready to be investigators... we'll see.

It was good to hear about your weeks and to see you all on Christmas and I hope you have another great week!!!!!!
I set some spiritual goals, some physical goals and some mental goals for the New Year. Hope you did too.

Love you all!!!

Sincerely,

Elder Jardine

Oh!!!. P.S- have you heard about the new schedule? It is amazzzzzzing. Look it up. It is worldwide and it is perfect for the work here. We work more in the morning, study in the afternoon and work at night-the two coolest times of day.
