Week 49

This week was fantastic. We had many miracles happen. For example, we were able to teach 10 new people this week and mark 5 dates for baptism. If all goes well, we will have a lot of baptisms on the 23rd. We also had two people come to church. I know you want to learn about them so here we go:

  • Barbara- 19- went to church; will be moving to Washington this August to live with another family and study law (I think); loves our church due to its tranquility (you will not believe the things I have seen and heard happening in churches here).
  • Kelen and Wendel- 10 and 13- kids of two less actives who went less active due to the fact that they didn't know that there was a church just down the read from them. Wendel just had a foot surgery so he will be in a cast for two more months, but looks very promising. Kelen would have attended church yesterday but didn't due to a family emergency. Baptism date: 23-July-17.
  • Maria, Paulo, João- 50+,50+, 19- Maria is very opinionated and they promised to come to church next week. Baptism date: 23-July-17.
  • Brito- 50+ - father of a member; very welcoming and nice; will come to church next week.
  • Rosangola and Fernado- 30, 8- very receptive; just that the boyfriend is barely ever home and apparently not too receptive about religion. Baptism date: 23-July-17.
  • AnaMaria-50+- very welcoming and will come to church next week.
So, ya. A lot of success. We are also having a soon leaving missionary (Elder Jardine has been switching his phrases around more lately...) with us to kind of get him ready for when he leaves in August.

Happy late birthday, mom!!!!!! It was good to see the pictures and hear how you guys are doing. Keep having a great week and tell me how everything is going.

Love you all and hope you have a great week.

Sincerely,
Elder Jardine

Week 48

This week was good. Let me start with what happened:
  • MONDAY-the usual. We also had a sweet family night at the house of one of the best youth I have seen in my mission (her name is Stephany).

  • TUESDAY-I got transferred. I am now in JundiaÍ Campo Limpo Paulista. It took two buses and one train to get here. And just to give you an idea as to where I am, if I go two more train stops, I am in the São Paulo South Mission, right on the edge. My new companion is Elder Dalsin (who was with me if you remember in Jardin de Lago when I first got there). So far, so good.

  • REST OF THE WEEK-same old work.
I am loving my new area. There is a lot of nature and today we hope to do a hike to a mini Cristo Redentor that we have in our area. But other than that, not much is happening.

It is good to see how all of you are doing. Have a great birthday, Hayden 😀😋. Everyone, have a great week and keep me informed as to how things are going.

Love you all.

Sincerely,
Elder Jardine

Week 47

This week was better. We decided to focus on talking with everyone, which is something I kind of struggle with, but I had a goal to close my contacts (150) and I was able to surpass that. This week, I was able to give 200 people the opportunity to receive the gospel message. Other than that, not much happened.

We had a sweet activity on Thursday with magic and popcorn, so that was fun. Transfers are tomorrow and I think I will be leaving so we will have to see where I go next. I am kind of sad to leave. This area and my companion are the best I have had in my mission, but where the Lord wants me, that's where I'll go.

Keep having awesome weeks and enjoy the pictures.

With much love,
Elder Jardine

Week 46

This week was something. Okay... I have to be kind of honest here; it kind of sucked. We had already cut Emerson due to the fact that we could never meet with him. We were able to talk to Robson and he said that he didn't what anymore involvement with the church due to the fact that he needs to find work. 😤😤😤😤😤 We didn't destroy him like we could have so we could at least leave  one door open for him.

So, as of now, we have no one in our teaching pool. After that, we kind of got depressed and it was difficult to find a reason to work. Then on Friday, we finally decided it was enough. We went and sat down at a table in the park in our complex and analyzed our problems-what we were doing wrong, what we were going to do better, and how we could solve our problems. Now, we are all good and hoping that this week will be better.

Good news of this week was that we had a bunch on less active members come to church, so that was good to see. So now, just pray that we will find some new people this week to teach.

It is good to hear how your weeks are going. Keep me informed on the house and things like that.

Have a good week!

Love you all soooooo much.

Sincerely,
Elder Jardine

Week 45
This week was good; just a few things have been happening:
  • I had interviews with President Hill which was fun.
  • We marked a date for Robson (that is actually how you spell his name) for the 17th, but after that day, we haven't been able to get in contact with him. So that is weird; just remember him in your prayers.
Other than that, my week was pretty normal. Just the usual things-work, teaching, and stuff. It has been getting cold down here so I am starting to use my sweater more.

It is always great to hear how things are going at home. Keep me informed and send me pictures of Tucker and stuff.

Love you all soooooo much!!!!!

Sincerely,
Elder Jardine
